DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE: This training has eligibility requirements for participation listed below - please read carefully\n\n\n\n\nMeet the Moment: ESG as a Competitive Advantage\n\n \n\nToday's business environment demands more than resilience it requires intentionality.\n\nInvestment\, talent\, and capital increasingly flow toward organizations that demonstrate clarity of purpose\, adaptability\, and alignment with evolving global expectations.\n\nThis workshop explores how ESG can help businesses move from "business as usual" to strategic readiness. Participants will examine how understanding their business potential\, aligning values with action\, and building a reputation grounded in accountability can strengthen competitiveness in a rapidly changing economy.\n\nAs global markets shift\, local businesses face a defining question: how do we create a strong local response to global pressures around investment attraction\, workforce expectations\, and sustainable growth? This session will challenge participants to think beyond compliance and consider ESG as a practical framework for growth\, leadership\, and long-term opportunity.\n\n \n\nGrowth does not manage itself and enthusiasm alone is not enough. Participants will learn how to proactively manage ESG-related risks such as supply chain disruption\, regulatory change\, climate related impacts\, and geopolitical uncertainty. She is the President and Founder of ESG Partners\, where she helps organizations move from intention to action by integrating ESG and sustainability practices into core business strategies to create long-term value\, manage risk\, and strengthen resilience in times of uncertainty.\n\nA Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA) and Chartered Director\, Nancy combines deep financial expertise with governance and sustainability leadership. She has extensive experience developing and delivering education programs for businesses and associations\, with a strong focus on ESG strategy\, climate related risk\, scenario analysis\, and sustainability reporting aligned with global frameworks such as IFRS/ISSB\, TCFD\, GRI\, SASB\, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.\n\nNancy's work is closely aligned with the goals of the ESG for Business Resilience: Thriving in Periods of Uncertainty training program. She brings practical\, real-world insight into how small and medium sized enterprises can use ESG as a strategic tool to improve competitiveness\, attract capital\, navigate regulatory change\, and build operational resilience. Her approach helps businesses understand and communicate non-financial sustainability metrics\, manage emerging risks\, and position themselves for sustainable growth in an increasingly complex and sustainability focused business environment.\n\n \n\n\nELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES\n\nAs per the guidelines for LSI funding\, there is eligibility criteria for participants. **\n\nA business is eligible to participate if it:\n\n\n is located in Nova Scotia\n is registered and active in the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies or incorporated by an Act of the Nova Scotia Legislature\n has a direct workforce development need (like upskilling employees\, adopting new technologies or addressing critical skills gaps within their industry)
