About Us
As a registered nonprofit charity and member of the Canadian Accessibility Network (CAN), the Nova Scotia League for Equal Opportunities takes a leading role as a cross-disability voice for Nova Scotians. Led by persons with disabilities, NSLEO has worked both nationally and internationally to address the systemic and attitudinal issues that create barriers to accessibility and inclusion. By working collaboratively and across sectors, we challenge discriminatory practices using a disability lens and a rights-based approach for equitable access and a greater quality of life for persons with a disability. We act as an information hub in building social, community, and political leadership where people with disabilities are recognized as equals.
